Conn Super Bone

ファイル 360-1.jpg

This is a very rare Conn Super Bone made in the late 1880’s/early 1890’s at the Worcester Factory of Conn. The instrument has 2 serial numbers, one for the slide and one for the valve section. It seems that when Conn started the factory in Mass. he used a different serial number system for the slide trombones, as noted by other slide instruments that have been seen from this period. This trombone does have some wear on the silver, but is in generally good shape.

Boosey & Company Orpheon

Folks, here at Dillon Music we have the rarest of the rare! This is an Orpheon made the Boosey Company in February of 1887. It was one of a set of 5 made for the famous Gilmore Band and is pictured with the players in Harper’s Weekly of Sept 28, 1889. The instrument is in Bb, with a serial number of 30557 and a bell number of 33242. Of the original 5, only the Eb Tenor was thought to exist. (This one, and the Eb Soprano, which is in Dillon Music’s Collection, have since been found) The instrument is in good shape, and is in the condition it was found. Has engraved on the bell, P.S Gilmore. Please email any questions regarding this magnificent instrument to Steve@dillonmusic.com. This is a chance to own a real piece of American Band History!!!
