Die alte Zugposaune aus der Zeit um 1900 stammt aus dem Hause Julius Rudolph Gotha, Hof - Instrumentenbauer!

Der Teil mit Trichter hat eine Länge von ca. 63,5 cm. Der Teil mit Mundstück hat, ohne Mundstück gemessen, eine Länge von ca. 83 cm. Der Trichter hat einen Durchmesser von ca. 22,8 cm.

Das alte Instrument muss hergerichtet werden. Es sind eingedrückte Stellen vorhanden. Ebenso Patina. Einer der beiden Innenstege ist stärker eingedrückt und an einer Stelle angebrochen.

Der Zug ist leichtängig.

Die alte Posaune hat ein Gewicht von 1,4 kg.

1936 FA Reynolds Professional Tenor Trombone in "Pristine" condition, completely overhauled by Rich Ita, one of the best brass instrument technicians in the USA. Serial No. 7xx, 7 1/4 "Solid Sterling Silver Bell” with a .500" bore, Brass slide with Silver Trim, Totally reconditioned with new lacquer applied to the Bell & slide section. This is the Model B built in 1936, the first year of Fosters New Company.

IMPERIAL SUPREME TROMBONE

MAKER TO HM FORCES, ENGLAND

Up for auction is a very unique slide trombone. The serial number is 13699 and it appears to have been made by Imperial Supreme of England. It is a burnished silver plated instrument with very detailed engraving (or etching) on the bell. I see very few areas where the plating is worn through. It has a few minor dings that should be fairly easy to iron out. The plating on the inner slides is worn through in several places (see pictures), which makes the slide action inconsistent. Please assume that the slides will require attention to get the instrument back into good playing condition. The slide attaches to the bell via friction fit, and there is no slide lock. The horn does not come with a case or a mouthiece. What you see in the pictures is what you will receive. The bore measures approximately .431" and the bell is 6" in diameter. I don't play trombone so I can't tell you how it sounds. But if you have any questions I'll do my best to provide accurate answers. I could find very little informatioin on this instrument.

The horn is totally original, without damage of any kind and with normal modern (not ascending third valve) configuration.

Bell diameter is 11 3/8 inches (290 mm).

Nine original crooks plus a B-flat coupler.

There’s evidence that the horn has been played very little, the original brass pistons are still tight.

There are no patches and the bell wears a wide garland on the flare.

The body of the horn is stamped “Ch. Roth / a Strassbourg / brevete / S.G.D.G.” Germany gained control of Strassbourg / Strassburg in 1870 and it became illegal to use the French language in business and financial dealings. The French spelling is evidence, we believe, that the horn was built before 1870.
